The School of Practical Philosophy

The School of Philosophy offers practical courses that present the great philosophies of the world in a way that is relevant to daily life. Wisdom, mindfulness and contentment are available to anyone who investigates philosophy and puts it into practice. The course is suitable for people with an interest in the subject, but no previous knowledge is needed.

The introductory courses are offered three times a year for ten weeks. The same course material is offered 3 times a week.

Description

We offer a series of ongoing courses and activities in practical philosophy. Concepts such as wisdom, decision making, awareness and beauty are presented in a way that may change your view of the world. The introductory course is a 10-week course and you attend 1 session per week. Each session is 2 1/2 hours long with a 15 minute tea break in the middle. Each course is lead by a tutor guiding the discussion in an open and supportive manner. There are no tests or exams at all.

As well as weekly classes we offer weekend residentials, study days and cultural days.
