NZ Organisation for Rare Disorders

NZORD offers a central starting point for patients and families affected by rare disorders, and helps them find essential information and support groups. Our commitment is helping these patients and their families as they embark on a journey that is by no means easy.

NZORD operates on a national level and provides extensive online information, in addition to facilitating networks for people with rare disorders and their families.

NZORD provides a large range of online resources to assist patients and their families, this includes the provision of a directory of 100+ support groups, 40 free websites - including those for small groups who would do have the means to do so, and bi-monthly e-newsletters. NZORD collaborates with international rare disease groups to facilitate networks should a support group not be available in New Zealand due to small numbers affected.
